A houndstooth suit that looks as if it came from a tired Chicago department store worn with sixth-form good-girl hair and pearls. Alicia Florrick’s victim chic is vintage Good Housekeeping.
Can anyone remember whether she was having sex with Will at this point? Her Tom Ford-at-Gucci-era silky stretchy blouse and shrink-wrapped pencil skirt suggest that the wardrobe department thought she was.

Roland Mouret-esque power dress and platform-soled Louboutins. 2011 is at least three years too late for this look, but in Chicago lawyer terms it was probably about right. And to be fair, it’s a look that most daytime TV presenters can’t get past either.
This is peak skirt suit for Alicia. It’s neat, well cut and crucially is short enough for her to do that thing where she briefly tugs it down at the hips on both sides before she starts the cross-examination.
Alicia’s politicial ambition means that her wardrobe makes a bid for more personality, and the personality this suit really wants is Michelle Obama’s. The wardrobe deprtament had a distinct White House fascination in this series.

Oh, so many clues in that jacket as to the plot of season 7. It’s bossy, off-key and very individual. Florrick the legal ringmaster vibes. And is the floral print dress to the left the wardrobe replacement for the sadly departed squeaky leather jacket?
